Basketball hoop with backboard
A wall-mounted basketball hoop consists of a backboard and a hoop with a net. It can be mounted to the wall at any height. Typically, you would use long wall anchors and screws to attach the hoop on the outside wall of your home or over the garage door. We recommend attaching it at the official height of 3.05 m (which could be tricky over a garage door)
The material of the backboard is a very important factor. It defines the force with which the ball bounces off the backboard. Low-cost structures made of thin chipboard or cheap plastic will almost absorb the ball impact altogether. The throw and bounce properties of the ball are completely different, depending on the material of the backboard.
